Michelle Anthony, DVM
Dr. Michelle Anthony earned her Doctorate degree from Michigan State University in the spring of 2002. She also received a Bachelors in Science degree from that same University in 1998. She has always had a love for animals and science which made veterinary medicine the ideal career path for her. She established Maple Grove Veterinary Clinic in 2006 where she sought out to create a comforting and trusting experience for her clients and their pets. Dr. Anthony is passionate about the human animal bond and educating clients on how to nurture this bond. In her free time Dr. Anthony enjoys spending time with her husband, Nick and their four children, Kelsey, Chase, Emily and Eva. Their furry family members consist of Dollie the Labrador, Piper the Shetland Sheepdog, along with 2 cats – Kit Kat and Sonny. She welcomes you to Maple Grove Veterinary Clinic and looks forward to meeting you soon.
Ashley Dawson, Practice Manager
Ashley Dawson joined the Maple Grove team in July 2010. You may find Ashley all over the clinic as she is our “go-to” gal. Ashley enjoys her role as Practice Manager, but her true strength lies in the amazing care she gives her patients as a Veterinary Assistant. She passionately believes in our mission to provide the highest quality of patient care in a compassionate environment and provide exceptional client service and education. In her spare time, Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband, Brent and their 2 boys, Carter and Jaxson. Their home is complete with their cat Cami, along with their 3 dogs, Whistler, Rogue and Harper Jane.
Melissa Gould, LVT
Melissa has been a part of the health care team here at Maple Grove since 2011, as one of our Licensed Veterinary Technicians. In 2011, Melissa graduated from Baker College in Flint with a Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology. We have been very fortunate to have Melissa as part of our team. Melissa currently resides in Grand Blanc with her husband, Jesse and their 3 kids. She also keeps busy with all her furry kids at home-her 4 cats and 2 dogs-Lizzie, a Border Collie and Wally, an Icelandic Sheepdog.
Gala Shively, LVT
Gala joined the Maple Grove team in the winter of 2016 as one of our Licensed Veterinary Technicians. Gala achieved her goals of working with animals when she graduated from Michigan State University in May 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Technology. While at Michigan State, Gala was able to gain experience in different services of Veterinary Medicine, including small and large animal radiology, anesthesia, rehabilitation, orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, and internal medicine. In her spare time, Gala enjoys spending time with her family, her two cats, Addison and Lucy, running, and taking her Great Dane, Piper, for walks. Gala looks forward to meeting your furry family members while providing the utmost care.
Mary Hall, Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant
Mary joined the Maple Grove team in August 2015. Mary has a previous history of working as a co-op/Veterinary Assistant for 4 years at a local veterinary clinic. Mary soon plans to extend her higher education experience, by continuing her schooling through Veterinary Medicine. Mary enjoys caring for all of the patients here at Maple Grove, and has a bubbly personality which she extends to all clients. Mary currently resides in Vassar with her husband Randy and their son, Oliver. They also share their home with two dogs- Riley and Finnely, their two cats- Felix and Porter and their four leopard geckos.
Melissa Gawne, Veterinary Assistant
Melissa joined the Maple Grove Team May of 2019. She was born and raised in Colorado where she met her husband, Brenden. They then moved to Alaska for 3 years and now have planted their roots here in Michigan. They have 4 fur babies, Sasha (Cattle Dog mix), Freya (cat), Syrus (German Shepherd/ Belgian Malinois), Lilly (Pit Bull), and their daughter Hailey. In her free time, Melissa enjoys spending her time outside exploring their new home with her family, or crafting. Melissa comes to us with 7 years of experience in the veterinary field.
